Metering UK representatives elected to the Stakeholder Advisory Forum

Metering UK is delighted to confirm that two representatives from the Metering UK have been elected to the new REC Stakeholder Advisory Forum (SAF).

The successful representatives are:

  • Electricity MEM/EMO/MOA: Martin Brailsford, Metering UK
  • Gas MEM/AMI: Jonathan Rand, E.ON Next

The establishment of the SAF forms part of the changes being made to REC governance, providing a new forum for stakeholder perspectives within the governance arrangements.

For Metering UK, securing representation across both the electricity and gas metering communities is a positive outcome. It provides an important opportunity for the practical experience and views of Metering UK members to be represented as the new governance arrangements develop.

This is particularly relevant as the metering sector continues to navigate significant industry change. Metering UK represents organisations and professionals across electricity, gas and water metering, alongside safe isolation providers and businesses supporting net zero and low-carbon technologies. Having metering represented within industry governance helps ensure that the operational implications of change remain visible alongside wider policy and market considerations.

Congratulations to Martin and Jonathan on their election.

Metering UK looks forward to engaging with the SAF and, importantly, ensuring that our wider membership remains informed about relevant discussions and developments. Members are encouraged to continue raising issues and views through Metering UK so that the breadth of experience across our community can help inform our engagement.
