SEC New Changes Raised
MP285 ‘Radio Teleswitch Service switch off’ proposes to allow installing Parties to install cellular technology Communications Hubs, where Long Range Radio (LRR) installations are not possible in the North Geographical Region, e.g., where a full Install and Commission (I&C) cannot be completed or cannot be connected, and where Radio Teleswitch (RTS) meters are being replaced.
DP287 ‘Access to historic GSME battery Alerts’ raises the issue of how currently, Suppliers do not have visibility of historic Alerts relating to the GSME. This means that if the battery ran out of power before the Supplier gained that consumer, they will be unable to identify whether the Gas Meter is unresponsive because of a spent battery or other reasons. This also means that Supplier’s are unable to fully complete the CoS process as they are unable to replace the Certificates on the Device.
SEC MP252 Update
Following last month’s Change Board decision to implement MP252 ‘Amending the process for Communications Hub returns’ in November 2025 SEC Release, we have been aware there may be a delay in the implementation. There will be an email sent to SEC Parties in the next few days to provide a more detailed update with some implementation options.

ERIN (Energy Retail Information Network)
ERIN is an NLP tool designed to assist users in navigating and querying the REC. However, it has its limitations. Users must use ERIN alongside the REC and not as a replacement. For clarity, REC Parties must rely on the REC legal text for their obligations.
All interactions with ERIN are logged by the Code Manager to improve its performance. While all data within ERIN is publicly available and not used to influence future responses, please refrain from submitting any personal information.
For more details, see the list of documents included in this model here.

The Code Manager is hosting an ERIN (Energy Retail Information Network) Webinar on 01 April 2025 (10:00 -11:00). In this webinar we’ll be discussing what ERIN is, and how REC Parties can use it to support their organisation’s ability to explore and query the REC efficiently. This webinar will give an overview of ERIN’s features, along with practical tips and insights on how to make the most of its capabilities, ensuring Parties can quickly and easily access REC-based information.
