Gas Safe Parliamentary Reception – 11 September 2025

The Gas Safe Parliamentary Reception was a special event taking place on 11 September 2025, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, at the House of Commons, Westminster. It is hosted by Paul Davies MP on behalf of the Gas Safe Register, as part of Gas Safety Week 2025, which runs from 8–14 September.

AMO members were in attendance, including the GMF Chair, Jon Rand and GMF Vice Chair of the AMO, as well the AMO Consultant Martin Brailsford.

The reception celebrated the 15th year of Gas Safety Week — a pan-industry initiative focused on keeping the nation gas safe. It brings together stakeholders from across the sector to raise awareness and promote best practices in gas safety.

ERIN (Energy Retail Information Network)

ERIN is an NLP tool designed to assist users in navigating and querying the REC. However, it has its limitations. Users must use ERIN alongside the REC and not as a replacement. For clarity, REC Parties must rely on the REC legal text for their obligations.
All interactions with ERIN are logged by the Code Manager to improve its performance. While all data within ERIN is publicly available and not used to influence future responses, please refrain from submitting any personal information.

The Code Manager is hosting an ERIN (Energy Retail Information Network) Webinar on 01 April 2025 (10:00 -11:00). In this webinar we’ll be discussing what ERIN is, and how REC Parties can use it to support their organisation’s ability to explore and query the REC efficiently. This webinar will give an overview of ERIN’s features, along with practical tips and insights on how to make the most of its capabilities, ensuring Parties can quickly and easily access REC-based information. REC MHHS training event: insights and next steps

On 13 February 2025, more than 100 stakeholders joined attended the Retail Energy Code (REC) Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) event in London. This engaging and insightful training session brought together industry experts from RECCo, Ofgem, Elexon, and REC Parties to discuss key changes the upcoming initiative will bring to REC arrangements.

  • Event Overview: On February 13, 2025, over 100 stakeholders attended the Retail Energy Code (REC) Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) training event in London.
  • Purpose: The event aimed to discuss the upcoming changes due to the MHHS initiative, which is part of Ofgem’s Significant Code Review (SCR) to modernise electricity settlement.
  • Key Changes: The introduction of the Target Operating Model (TOM) will restructure market roles, enhance data processing, and mandate industry-wide compliance to support a smarter, low-carbon energy system.
  • Insights and Guidance: Industry experts provided guidance on REC impacts, code drafting, performance assurance, qualification, change management, and operational readiness.

RECCo Webinar ; Draft Forward Work Plan (2025-28)

RECCo is pleased to invite participants to the upcoming webinar, where the draft Forward Work Plan (FWP) for 2025-2028 will be introduced. This plan outlines the key workstreams, financial projections, and strategic priorities for the next three years, with a detailed focus on the priorities for 2025-2026.

In the coming year, the focus will be on:

  • REC Service Delivery and Evolution
  • Code Reform
  • Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement
  • Consumer Consent (subject to decision)
  • Smart Secure Electricity Systems (subject to decision)

During the session, the RECCo Executive Team will provide an overview of future plans. Attendees will also hear about the three strategic aims and the indicative budget, with an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the next steps. Questions can be submitted prior to the event here.

REC Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement Training Day

On 13 February 2025, RECCo will be holding a REC Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement Training Day. This will be an in-person event in London, venue to be announced shortly.

The day will be a detailed overview of the changes being introduced to the REC, which will help to support your implementation and operational readiness for MHHS. You will hear from and get to speak to REC Subject Matter Experts as well as representatives from Ofgem, Elexon and the Data Integration Platform (DIP) Manager.

It will be a great opportunity for REC Parties, and other impacted market participants to learn about and prepare for the changes being introduced to the REC as part of the implementation of MHHS. More details, including a detailed agenda, will be shared shortly.
