On 10 January 2025, the REC Code Manager published the following Change Reports (Proposal Plan) ahead of being presented to the Change Panel on 21 January 2025:
Work conducted by RPA has identified a significant number of mismatches between gas Data Items held by key stakeholders. This may result in Consumer detriment, as information relevant to an MPRN may not be held accurately by any given Party. As such, there is a need to review processes pertaining to the communication of gas data by MAMs onward to the CDSP to mitigate the potential for mismatches.
R0217 – Amending contractual obligations for SIPs at Non-Domestic Premises
Non-Domestic Consumers who occupy (but do not own) a Premises with relevant permissions allowing metering work to occur are unable to contract with SIPs due to the restrictions in section 21 of Schedule 14 Metering Operations.
R0229 – Supply Point Enquiry API Technical Specification Updates
The example responses detailed in section 4.2 are broken down as ‘mprn’ with three demoed data items; ‘mprn’, ‘installation name’, and ‘network name.’ this is however not reflective of the correct responses that would actually be returned on an API call. The actual structure is ‘supplier’ with the demoted data items actually being ‘amr_indicator’, ‘amr-sp’, and ‘csep_id.’ Fundamentally, this would mean that users are consuming incorrect information when looking to this document for guidance. This could potentially be causing negative impacts when the document is relied upon, especially for newer users seeking guidance.
These reports are open for comments on the REC Portal until 23:59 on 17 January 2025.
