REC Code Roadmap – V1.4

A refreshed version of the REC Code Roadmap is now available. It presents the priority work items that the REC Code Manager is delivering now and in the near future that are resulting, or could result, in changes to the REC.

Points to note from V1.4 include:

Metering theme continues to have significant focus and activity; this currently includes:

- the review of the CoMCoP under R0152 – Revision to the Consolidated Metering Code of Practice (CoMCoP)
- a new Issue I0172 looking at the end to end New Connections process (cross codes RFI currently open)
- a review of Gas MAM processes that is likely to lead to new changes shortly
- R0177 to facilitate review and amendment of the SMIS questions
- Several changes to make the REC metering provisions simpler and more accessible e.g. moving footnotes into the main Schedule 14 text (R0181) and moving obligations out of the REC where best placed elsewhere (R0170).

Electricity Cut Out Glossary

REC hosts the electricity cut out glossary document within the REC metering hub. This document provides a guide to operators on the types of Distribution Business equipment that may be encountered as part of their work.

For Information – R0182 – Levelisation Reconciliation Update Webinar

On 22 June 2024, work was undertaken to migrate GES to a newer, more efficient, and robust platform. Despite rigorous testing and enhanced monitoring, issues were identified with a small number of data items. Consequently, it was reverted to the existing platform for both the portal and the supply point switching API services on 25 June to ensure the quality of service for all GES users.

Following a detailed analysis of the issues experienced between 22 June 2024 and 25 June 2024, the decision to revert to the existing platform minimised user impact, with only approximately 1.8 out of every 10,000 individual data items affected. Each request via the portal or API typically involves multiple data items and considering the lower traffic volumes on the GES portal during this period, almost all customers were unaffected, and those who were impacted experienced minimal disruption.

Although the likelihood of validation or processing errors is very low, if you encounter any issues with activities that occurred between 22 June 2024 and 25 June 2024, please contact REC by raising a ticket via the portal.

With the analysis now complete, REC will focus on resolving the identified issues and planning the reimplementation. We will provide further updates in the coming weeks.
