REC hosts the electricity cut out glossary document within the REC metering hub. This document provides a guide to operators on the types of Distribution Business equipment that may be encountered as part of their work.

If any AMO members have issues following the link, they may need to be given access to the Metering Hub.  They should contact the REC service desk enquiries@recmanager.co.uk or via their REC Operational Account Manager to request access.

On 22 June 2024, work was undertaken to migrate GES to a newer, more efficient, and robust platform. Despite rigorous testing and enhanced monitoring, issues were identified with a small number of data items. Consequently, it was reverted to the existing platform for both the portal and the supply point switching API services on 25 June to ensure the quality of service for all GES users.

Following a detailed analysis of the issues experienced between 22 June 2024 and 25 June 2024, the decision to revert to the existing platform minimised user impact, with only approximately 1.8 out of every 10,000 individual data items affected. Each request via the portal or API typically involves multiple data items and considering the lower traffic volumes on the GES portal during this period, almost all customers were unaffected, and those who were impacted experienced minimal disruption.

Although the likelihood of validation or processing errors is very low, if you encounter any issues with activities that occurred between 22 June 2024 and 25 June 2024, please contact REC by raising a ticket via the portal.

With the analysis now complete, REC will focus on resolving the identified issues and planning the reimplementation. We will provide further updates in the coming weeks.

On 02 July 2024, the REC Change Panel voted to approve the following Final Change Reports:

• The Final Change Report for R0167 – Change Process Improvements following Code Manager review. Subject to no appeal being raised, this will be implemented in an extraordinary REC Release on 19 July 2024.
• The Final Change Report for R0164 – Removing the Enumerations from Communications Method Data Item (J0386) to align with BSC CP 1594. Subject to no appeal being raised, this will be implemented in an extraordinary REC Release on 23 August 2024.

RECCo is looking for industry stakeholders to join their new Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG) as they evolve the Enquiry Services who can offer guidance, diverse perspectives, and insights from experienced service users throughout the lifecycle project.

The Enquiry Services are essential tools that enable the retail energy market to operate efficiently which include:

• The Electricity Enquiry Service
• The Gas Enquiry Service
• The Secure Data Exchange Portal and;
• The Green Deal Central Charge Database
