On the 10 September, the Code Manager published the Change Reports containing the Proposal Plans for the following:

• I0168 – Clarify and Strengthen CRS Provider’s Requirements

Following the publication of Ofgem’s consultation on the future of the Centralised Registration Service (CRS), otherwise known as Switching, and initial analysis of consultation responses, Ofgem has issued a survey to REC and SEC parties in order to receive further insight into industry’s views surrounding the costs and benefits as well as the risks if responsibility for the CRS was removed from the DCC Licence and transferred to the Retail Energy Code. Take two minutes to complete this survey by the extended deadline of 19 September 2024.

On 06 November 2024, the Code Manager will be hosting a REC Party Engagement Day, providing REC Parties with a fantastic opportunity to hear about the key projects and activities happening within the Code Manager.  

You’re invited to join in London – or remotely via livestream. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the event, and those who attend in person will be able to meet with their Operational Account Managers face-to-face, as well as network with their industry colleagues.

The Code Manager would like to remind REC Parties & Service Users that the Consultation for R0182 – Levelisation Reconciliation Electricity Single-rate/Multi-register Split is live and can be accessed from the Consultations Register on the REC Portal.

This Consultation has a hard deadline of 20 September 2024. Any responses submitted beyond this date will not be considered during the progression of this Change Proposal, and will not be published. If you wish to respond but are not sure that you will be able to by the deadline, please let us know at your earliest possible convenience. Late responses will be considered on a case-by-case basis if notified in advance of the deadline.

Notice of Rejection – R0105 Review of ONAGE SLAs

On 11 September 2024, the REC Metering Expert Panel voted to reject Change Proposal R0105 – Review of ONAGE SLAs in line with the Code Manager’s recommendation.

SEC version 91.0 came into effect today (9 September 2024) to implement the Ad hoc SEC Release of MP223.

The Code elements of the September 2024 Extraordinary REC Release have been implemented, 06 September 2024. This Release introduces three changes:

• R0177 – Change Smart Meter Installation Consumer Survey Specification Survey Questions to a REC Category 2 Document
• R0188 – Changes to Terms of Reference Following Acceptance of R0167
• R0192 – Housekeeping Amendments

All the updated REC Products can be located on the REC Portal. 

The REC Baseline Statement has been updated with the new product version numbers.
