SEC Version 102.0 came into effect, 20 December 2024.

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (‘the Department’) is today designating the SEC Variation Testing Approach Document (SVTAD) for the Future Service Management Arrangements for incorporation into the SEC as Appendix AX. This includes a consequential change to SEC Section A ‘Definitions and Interpretation’. This SVTAD is in respect of variations to the SEC that are being considered to enable the Data Communications Company (DCC) to introduce and transition to the Future Service Management (FSM) Arrangements, being:

1. a new service management and incident management system;
2. a new 4G Communications Hub forecasting and ordering management system; and
3. a system to support the returns process for all Communications Hubs.

The DCC ran a consultation on a draft of the SVTAD between 11 October and 8 November 2024. It sought views on the date for designation of the SVTAD. Respondents agreed with the proposed SVTAD and with a designation date of 20 December 2024 (or as soon as reasonably practicable within one month thereafter). The DCC subsequently provided the Department with a proposed SVTAD on 6 December 2024 alongside a consultation conclusions report, both of which were published on the DCC website on the same day.
